Community Involvement

Northwestern Mutual Sacramento is an active member within the Sacramento community. Many of our financial representatives are leaders of boards and organizations. Northwestern Mutual Sacramento has teamed up with Alex's Lemonade Stand to help raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer.  The Sacramento network office is helping this effort by  holding bake sales on Fridays.. The hope is to continue with more efforts to fight for this awesome cause!

Northwestern Mutual Sacramento is proud to be the Title sponsor for Eureka Schools Foundation Cup Golf Tournament. The Sacramento Network office is passionate about providing local youth an opportunity to experience an outstanding education. Funding from this golf tournament provides resources and programs in the areas of computer technology, foreign language, libraries, music, athletics, and summer training for teachers. Without private funding, these programs outside of the standard curriculum would be eliminated.

The Eureka Schools Foundation (ESF) is a non-profit foundation that supports the students of the Eureka Union School District. Founded more than 20 years ago ESF has served to bridge the gap in unpredictable and insufficient education funding from our state government. ESF preserves programs and resources that are essential building blocks to our kids’ education and their future.  The Foundation Cup is one of the major fundraising events that ESF puts on annually.

Active 20-30 members come from all professions and walks of life. Our organization differs from many service organizations because we not only raise money for children's charities but also encourage "hands on" interaction. This active participation serves to solidify our relationships with those we serve, maintains motivation, and produces a degree of personal satisfaction.

The Sacramento network office of Northwestern Mutual participated in a Mother's Day effort to support and donate clothe's, books, locks of hair and many other items to the Mover's For Mom's organization sponsored by Weave and Two Men and A Truck in Sacramento. In total, our office provided 6 boxes of clothes and several books donated by financial representatives and their families.

Movers for Moms is an annual donation drive collecting items and gifts in honor of Mother's Day for women and children currently being helped by WEAVE, a local shelter for abused women. All donations go to struggling mothers living within the community. This donation drive takes place once a year in the Spring in the months leading up to Mother's Day. Our goal for 2013 was to collect 10,000 and bring them to WEAVE in time for Mother's Day. With the help of our community partners, we were able to bring over 13,000 items to the women staying in the WEAVE safe house!
